HOW TO REACH THE WORKSHOP ?

The workshop takes place at the "Bâtiment des Colloques" - Building 338 located in the University Paris-Sud in Orsay, approximately 25 km south-west of Paris.

From Paris by local transport:

The easiest way to reach the "Bâtiment des colloques" from Paris is to take the RER B line from any RER B station in the centre of Paris (eg. "Luxembourg" station), and then get off at the “Bures-sur-Yvette” station. This trip takes about 40 minutes from the center of Paris; add about 13 minutes walking between the station and the  "Bâtiment des colloques" as detailed here

During working hours, you will find a train from Paris in the direction Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse every 12-15 minutes. You should plan around one hour door to door from your hotel in Paris to the University. The main train stations in Paris ("Gare du Nord", "Gare de l'Est" and "Gare de Lyon") are connected to the Metro/RER system going to "Bures-sur-Yvette" station. At the RER station, take the RER B going to "Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse" direction (and not to "Robinson"!!), getting off at the  "Bures-sur-Yvette" station. Please consult the RER and METRO map for the Paris region available here.

Important: Please do not make confusion between the city of Orsay and the Musée d'Orsay (the famous museum in Paris, not in Orsay!). From Paris, you must buy a ticket specifically for the "Bures-sur-Yvette" station. A Paris metro ticket is not sufficient!

From Charles de Gaulle (CDG) Airport:

There are two RER stations for the Charles de Gaulle (CDG) Airport:
• From CDG Terminal 1, (the round terminal) take the airport shuttle called CDGval to the RER station Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 1 near Terminal 3
• From CDG Terminal 2, walk to the RER station Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2 - TGV
• From CDG Terminal 3, walk to the RER station Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 1 (i.e., the same station as for Terminal 1)

From Orly Airport:

Take the Orlyval (Automatic rail link connecting to RER line B) to the "Antony" station and then transfer to the RER B going to Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse and get off at "Bures-sur Yvette" station.

Where to park your car:

Have a look at this map where the most convenient parking lots are plotted.
